me design poster

Me Designer

The inspiration from this poster would have to come from me.

Brainstorming for ideas and developing my moodboard, my goal was to find me within design.

I want to be a producer/director for projects. I want to write the concept ideas and character designs to a project. I want to create the setting and world to a project.

Create is a goal for me in design, and I want to create the foundamentals behind a project, either its novel to games to movies.

I want to create the world I want.

The poster originally started as collages of different images that relates to me. I took photo of my collection of novels and games. I took screenshots of games and videos. I took a screenshot of a lore page for a certain character within a game. These was what I want to do. I want to create the world behind any form of media as long as I could do it.

To make it interesting in the end, I contained everything within a brain shape and mix and jumble them together. They are my ideas for designing and this is what I want to create.

This is my mood board, consisting of a collage of images related to what I want to be.

I want to be someone that creates the stories.

I want to be someone that creates the settings.

I want to be someone that creates the characters.

I want to be someone that creates the world.

What I had used for moodboard was images of collections of novels, games and such that I had, while screenshots of other images and also a lore profile page about a character.

For final product I want to put in the efforts in creating the me to the design.

As I plan to work on game design, scenario/concept design  and directing and such, I want to be able to create what becomes interesting.

This is my mind map containing what goes on with my design process

A lot comes from inspirations.. I want to have fun and ideas from my mind I want to let them flow.

I want to either be a game designer or director that leads the group in exploration of our creativities. I want to create that magnificent story, setting and world that is housed in the media.

I want to be the creator

Me Designer

'A few shapes is all it need to be a designer'

These few examples of visuals that I have created are based on the positioning of the shapes.

The art pieces includes,

- A Star
- A Small Circle
- A Large Rectangle
- A Small Rectangle
- A long Bar
- Me Designer Text

Each of them uses the same elements but due to positioning while each colors are different, creates a different mood and feel to each of them.

Seasonal Nature - Postcard Design

My post card design and concept is based on the 4 seasons. Each design have their own design towards the meaning of each season.
The theme is based on Season in Nature so each letters are manipulated to represent that time of the season.
All four design uses the words ‘F’ and ‘G’. There is not much intention in specificially using them other than the fact that having letters that have both a straight edge and rounded parts gives me more space and space to work to. There would be more creativity options that way.

-----

Spring is the season of green. ‘Q’ is sliced up into parts, a big half take part as the bottom half while the other half into bits representing leaves.
F is sliced in half and with our neutral color in the backdrop, as the spring rain.

-----

What I have here is a golden sunset of the summer times. Color chosen are yellow and blue representing the sea and the beach and sunset.
Q is used right in the center to represent the sun.

-----

As part of an attraction of Autumn is the stacks of red leaves beneath trees. The season where most parts of nature withers and falls off, leaving traces of what had appeared before.
‘F’ was used to represent a tree. Parts of the letter is shaved off and left in the lower part of the letter to represent that.

-----

Winter usually have the quiet and cool tone to it. A major use of cool colors are present in this postcard compare to the warm color choice for summer.
Similar to the breaking apart from Autumn, logs of dying trees are present but instead of leaving traces behind, instead, there is a more use of white snow and blue cold water running.

My designs are theme based on the 4 seasons.

There wasn't much reason to choose 'F' and 'Q' other than fact I want two letters, one having more edges while other more rounded.

Going from top, left to right, Spring -> Summer -> Autumn -> Winter

Spring having a more green feel to it. Its the season that everything feel fresh.

Summer have a more yellow/orange feel due to the hot burning sun, and our beach.

Autumn is when leaves start to fall, red leaves and dry branches are all over the ground. It have a more dull yet reddish feel.

Winter is the season of the cool.  White snow, blue chilled land and dead wood.

The original try was to make a paradox continuation with closure element but it ends just a closure continuation.
My initial thoughts was to run a pipe in the middle to strengthen the paradox and it was purely going to be a path but in the end, it looks like 'Z''Z' together, one lying down, one standing up.

MC Escher

This is one of Escher's most famous work depicting citizens living in different gravity in the same space.

It is recognised and viewed artistically and scientifically. The space is still a possible 3D space with Conuation method of using the stair case for audience to view the piece of artwork.

The use of similarity on the citizen and objects yet viewing them close, there is a lot if difference and each having their own meaning.

This is another lithography work that is showing a paradox of water running downwards then reaching the top through visuals and down a waterfall to continue the loop.

This is an impossible object with the path of the water in at least two Penrose triangle. The path is locked by two sets of tower with an object on top that Escher have specially designed by intwiining the same shape together.

The picture is also filled with bizarre plants that have an eerie feel yet the citizens are just going on with their normal routine naturally.

Font assignment + Poster

Romaru is a font to be kept simple in mind. Letters following a strict pattern in shape. Letters are encased within a box while any elements within it or curves are all rounded.

The name comes from Japanese translation of these name. Ro or ロ in katakana is the shape of a box while Maru on the other hand is ◯ which is a circle. It is suppose to mean circle inside of a box.

The poster featuring the font consists of easy shapes like boxes circles and lines. It is suppose to show simplicity of the font and aesthetics to the eyes.

Name of the font have been decided as Romaru.

This design is san-seriff featuring the stroke of the letters cross where they usually connect. Two line instead of connecting at a point, they continue further or if there is a T junction, it turn into a cross section.

This Style has a box shape for the outside of the letter while any holes inside are instead rounded.

This style break up a letter into parts. Notice that the cap and lower letters shares a same part. The Lower cap letters finish their letter with line only.

This style feature a break up within the connecting points of strokes.

Fonts of Like & Dislike

Fonts of Like & Dislike

Fonts of Like

This font is simple, have the stroke feeling and for a calligraphy type of font, it is also ease to see by the eyes.

Most calligraphy fonts are based on how someone would have write up in real life and should always stay that way. Like someone had made an artwork from how he have written, it needs to stand out, but also stay like writing.

This one is a sci fi style font, turns out to be very simple and readable, yet have its own complexity within the strokes to add in that sci-fi feel.

Nashville is a western style font. This shows a bit of the wear and tear and like bullets holes left behind. This font compare to others I have chosen wasn't that harsh on the effects so it still looks like any other font yet it have that feel. The font seems to also function out of the western style field and for certain effects would serve a good purpose.

Fonts of Dislike

First impression on this is, what is with this complexity. The words are all mixed up within the effects given and all attention are based on the effects other than what someone would be typing up.

As a personal preference, I actually dislike stuff that gets too complicated and this just go against my liking of doing stuff.

A mexican font. Well, in one case its still pretty simple yet have the mexican field but it just feels too easy and not unique yet, it just looks ugly.

The font in a way stands out, the squiggly strokes and party stream like lines, well, it just giving me a disgusting appeal. It felt too kiddish for use and looks like maybe a Maccas Child Birthday Party only might use it.
